Resumen

Abstract: We present field observations on the consumption of three fruits (Psidium guajava, Syzygium jambos, and Ficus sp.) by males of the big fruit-eating bat (Artibeus lituratus) in an Andean locality (Venezuela). These observations include time invested during foraging and consumption of these fruits, as well as a description of feeding behavior.

Keywords: Artibeus lituratus, feeding behavior, ecology, Chiroptera, Venezuela.

Palabras clave: Artibeus lituratus, comportamiento alimentario, ecología, Chiroptera, Venezuela.
